The history of La Roche Cotard began a long time ago.
In Mousterian times, about 75,000 years ago, Neanderthal man occupied the cave at the bottom of the park, long before the house itself existed. The present building was built in the early 15th century as a hunting lodge for a castle that has since disappeared.
After having been a wine estate and a holiday camp, the property finally came into the family 50 years ago. Since then, four generations have been involved in the life of this special place, which has become a real gathering place for family and friends.

Bring the historical heritage of the region to life, while preserving it for future generations.
The coliving project we initiated was born out of our desire to continue to welcome people while preserving the very essence of the place. We are convinced that coliving is the best way to do this, as it allows us to host people for longer stays than simple holiday rentals. This way, our guests have the time to make the place their own and discover all the treasures of this house steeped in history.
Coliving is a way of life that promotes sharing and conviviality. By sharing common spaces, such as the kitchen or the dining room, our guests have the opportunity to meet other people from all over the world, to make friends and to live a unique experience.
Through this project, we want this house to remain forever the “family home” where we meet every year. This place is filled with our family’s memories and will continue to be filled with the memories of the people who stay here.
It is a way for us to keep the historical heritage of the region alive, while preserving it for future generations.
