A witty woman, famous for her beauty, Louise Dupin was an important figure in the Age of Enlightenment. She hosted a brilliant literary salon where she received Voltaire, Rousseau, Montesquieu… Owner of Chenonceau castle (where she is buried), she wrote an imposing 2000-page text: The defence of women and equality between the sexes.
